At Springdale Elementary School, we show our Stinger P.R.I.D.E.! Purpose, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence.
Springdale students are engaged in a structured, rigorous, and joyful learning environment. Springdale Elementary School is a student-centered community that recognizes that students' needs are the driving force in the learning environment. The teachers look forward to building relationships with students and families. We desire to build two way communication to help students achieve to their highest potential. We are planning many exciting events and we hope to see parents involved and engaged in all we do!
Springdale was built in 1925 and named after the surrounding area. While most schools in the Tulsa Public school system are named after historical figures, our school is unique in that it is named after the neighborhood we serve. Our neighborhood and community are integral to our success, and it helps define who we are!
Dual Language Program
Springdale Elementary proudly offers a one-way dual-language program to our native Spanish-speaking students.
Research shows that bilingual children who are educated in their second language outperform students who speak and learn only in their native language. Students at Springdale go beyond learning another language to learn about other cultures. Students learn to read first in their dominant language, then they spend equal amounts of time building literacy in English and Spanish. Math is taught in English, while science and social studies are taught in Spanish. Students build fluency in both languages through their daily interactions with peers and teachers.
The entire Springdale office staff is bilingual, which helps ensure seamless communication between our school and students' families. For families from other cultures, our staff is known to be a trusted resource that is always ready to answer any general questions about navigating schools in the U.S.
